God, gratitude, healing hand, joy, laughter, mi familia, my family
this past sunday at church we sang a song called “restoration” and it has been on instant replay in my head all week. the words spoke deeply to me and i realized that in my current state of returning to “normal” life, i was starting to cling more to the “normal-ness” of it all as opposed to clinging to God in gratitude and dependence for His mercy and provision in my life. i guess it’s easy when things are going smoothly to revert back to the status quo. it doesn’t seem quite as necessary to be bowed down at His feet depending on Him for every next breath.
i wanted to take time to thank God for all that He has done in our life. for continuing to restore Lucia’s health, our laughter, our life. i feel like He has given us a pause to restore our strength and our perspective. and no matter how short or long this pause is – i am so stinkin’ grateful for it!!!
i pray that God will also bring restoration to many of you, my family and friends, who have walked through the valley of suffering these past two years. i pray that He will give you a moment to catch your breath and fill your lungs with laughter. for those of you who are walking through the valleys: losing your child, having a child with an illness or disability, losing your parents, finding out it’s cancer, losing your limbs and other major surgeries, losing your best friend, losing your job, struggling with an addiction, raising your child alone, longing for a baby, recovering from tragedy, etc. i pray that God will restore you and renew your hope and your strength.
“I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.” Isaiah 43:21-21
here’s the song we sang at church:
restoration:
You bring restoration
You bring restoration
You bring restoration
to my
soul
You’ve taken my pain
called me by a new name
You’ve taken my
shame
and in it’s place, You give me joy
You take mourning and turn it
into dancing
You take weeping and turn it into laughing
You take mourning
and turn it into dancing
You take my sadness and turn it into
joy
hallelujah, hallelujah
You make all things new, all things new
tasting
standing

I thank our mighty, loving God for giving you/us a chance to take a breath and enjoy the amazing bounty He provides for us, that we lose sight of while in the middle of the hard times. I thank our gracious, powerful God for His strength and power and control, that we forget about as we are being tossed by the storm. PRAISE GOD, the source of ALL power and strength. I pray that we all cling to that power always.
